Welcome...

Visiting any church for the very first time can be an overwhelming experience. We want to put you at ease. Your first visit to the Northeast Seventh-Day Adventist church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and at home! Below you will find additional information on our Sabbath service that we hope will assist in making you feel right at home when visiting Northeast.

Worship With Us

Our Sabbath School and main Worship Service are held weekly on Saturdays. When you arrive, you will receive a bulletin outlining the service, along with a blue card to capture your contact information so we can stay in touch.

  • Beginning at 9:30am, our Adult Sabbath School class provide an opportunity for you to explore Bible lessons that were studied throughout the week. It is a place where the toughest questions and subject matters are tackled… a place where current issues and timeless truths converge… a place where you can choose to join in or choose to remain anonymous (and be judged for neither)… a place where you will be challenged to reconsider all you think you know about life and about God.
  • Also at 9:30am, our Children’s Sabbath School classes for children and pre-teens begin in the Children’s room downstairs.
  • At 11:00am, just precluding the start of the Worship service, we inform the congregation of some general announcements and guests along with members learn from our Health Ministry Department during the Health Nugget.
  • Our Divine Worship Service begins at 11:15am. This service includes our congregational responses, special welcome, prayer, giving, music, and a sermon from our Pastor, Elders or Special Guest speakers.

    Sabbath School Classes
We have Sabbath School classes for adults and children. As with all Seventh-day Adventist Churches around the world, the Northeast Seventh-Day Adventist Church uses the SDA Adult Sabbath School Quarterly, a day-to-day Bible study guide that is produced every three months by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. For more information see the SDA Quarterly website here.

    Location of Services and Classes
The adult Sabbath School class are held on the ground-level floor in the Sanctuary.  Children Sabbath School classes are located on the lower level in the classroom next to the kitchen.

    Enjoy a Meal with us!

Following our Sabbath Worship Service, our Hospitality Team hosts a sumptuous lunch for our guests and members in the Fellowship Hall. We invite you to join us for lunch. We’d love to get to know you and your family better. Our Fellowship Hall is located on the lower level of our church.

    SPECIAL SERVICES

    Baptism
Seventh-day Adventists perform baptisms by immersion, meaning that the candidate is fully submerged in water before arising to a new life in Jesus Christ. Those who are baptized in Christ in the Seventh day Adventist church have made the conscious decision to accept Christ into their life, so you will see people of all ages getting baptized.

    Communion
You may experience our Communion service, usually on one of the Sabbaths of each quarter when our pastor is here. Every quarter, the Seventh-day Adventist church remembers the death and resurrection of Christ through a Holy Communion service.
Bread and wine (grape juice), a symbol of the body and blood of Christ, is prayed over by the pastor, elders and shared by all in attendance.

Before the sharing of the bread and wine, members (and others who wish to participate) take part in a short foot-washing ceremony. The purpose of the ceremony is to follow in the biblical footsteps of Christ as He so humbly stooped to wash the feet of His disciple, Peter. Here at the Northeast church, men and women separate into different rooms where individual basins and towels are available for each partner. It is a simple event. Shoes and socks are removed (however, a woman is not expected to remove her stockings); and the feet are simply dipped or sprinkled with water and dried.

Participating in the foot-washing ceremony is not mandatory. If you are visiting with us on that day, you are not obligated to take part; you are invited to watch or wait in the sanctuary until everyone convenes again. Following foot-washing, we return to the Sanctuary to partake in the sharing of bread and wine.

    Baby Dedications
Visiting on the day of a baby dedication is equally special. As Seventh-day Adventists, we do not practice infant baptism (for more on SDA beliefs & practices, click here). In place a baptism we have a dedication – a short ceremony to welcome the arrival of a newborn baby into the family of God. The ceremony usually consists of a short prayer and blessing from the Pastor, as well as a time for pictures.
